Can We Critique Co-Ops a Little Bit Deeper?

Co-ops have been around for as long as we have record of humans doing economic activity together. The key function that a lot of co-ops don't have is this function of the protection of self-governance, right? So you've solved the capital allocation problem. You've solved the voice problem. But there is this third thing, which is the custodian ship, stewardship, this protection of the structure itself. That can be a straight up ban on selling the company. It's something that's really worth aspiring to and appreciating. Any democratic structure worth creating is worth preserving.
