Is Godwin's Idea a Good Idea?

Malthus' father encouraged him to put his ideas down on paper. He is shocked by the poverty of the poor people in this parish. As soon as there's a slight improvement in anybody's situation the response is to have more children that's bringing everybody back down. Malthus: Every time you move forward people have more children and therefore they're just in miserable poverty again.
