I'm glad you mentioned tiny desk because I've started watching tiny desk concerts on NPR. It's a really great entry point for us as music educators. You have to go out of that stereotype brain that all hip hop music has swear words and is about drugs or whatever. And it's excellent stuff to show to your kids as long as you preview it first. So we should also talk about other entry points into using real quote, real music tied to history, tied to cultural events.
