The character of Yuji to Dory was inspired by Akutami's brother who excels in everything he does, like school and sports. Gage is hilariously a bit of an oversharer in interviews when it comes to plot points. Since the powers are based on human emotions, Akutami’s approach to story is to sear the plot towards his characters,. reaching a catharsis to release those pinup emotions on what Gage chooses to draw.
