The Giant Catfish Is a Model
Each of the models that we have is trying to help us to understand something. We simply don't build life's two scale maps, one to one maps. But without biasing the things that we need to see, we can build a model that has mountains, that doesn't have rivers, and still be an accurate representation of taupology.
