The Effects of Gastric Electrical Stimulation on Eating Disorders

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have developed a tiny pill. When swallowed, it can send electric pulses through the stomach lining to get things moving. The team showed that the pill raises levels of hormones that increase appetite and decrease nausea. It could one day act as an effective noninvasive therapy for those who experience gastroparesis or other eating disorders.
