The Role of Race in the History of Marriage

Taylor: The church really starts to shift its focus and shift its definition of what marriage is to a new form of marriage. He argues that the patriarchal order of marriage is also starting to be weakened both inside and outside the church. This gets replaced with a new definition of marriage well as long as it's heterosexual it's fine, he says. There are a couple of reasons why this is specifically important that we are shifting away from the racial order of marriage according to Taylor.
