How Do You Balance What the Team Wants and Needs?

i've been an avid pocass listener for a long, long time. Hearing the passion that the hosts and the guests have about different technologies as can just overtime, just rubbed off on me. Which i think that's o lot towards my passion to technology which has hopefully spread to other people as well. So we've spoken a lot about trying to help out team members. How do you balance what the team wants veses, what the business wants and needs? By making things use ae driven.
