When we're looking at untrained subjects in a study, it's people who have no lifting experience. And they'll get results on kind of anything you throw at them. So yeah, that's the whole train versus untrained thing. What Juha Homie and colleagues found out was whether carbohydrate added to the protein dose was about 37, 30 to 40 grams. They found no significant differences in muscle size and strength gains over a period of 8-12 weeks.
