Lou's Origin Story
In 1992, Lou Perlman and talent manager Tansy Williams are watching an endless parade of teen boys sing and dance. On this day in the warehouse, they're watching a 13-year-old kid named Nick Carter. At one point during his audition, Nick does a cartwheel across the concrete floor. When he lands, Tansy sees him wince in pain, but he gets through the rest of the routine no problem. And that's when Tansy knows: This kid is a pro.
