Naval warfare has always been quick and deadly, but the battle of midway changed that. The Japanese strike force did a significant amount of damage to midway, but didn't seem to have inhibited the airc t capability,. And nagumo gets the message from his aircraft strike leader that he recommends another strike on the island. This puts nagumo on the horns of a dilemma from which he will not escape. He's got half his aircraft sitting around doin nothing with torpedoes just in case he runs into some american carriers. So what do you do? I feel for nagumo at this point.
