"I just, i was excited by the idea of tuning into people's needs in a different way," he says. To become a chaplain you go through what's called clinical pastoral education. It's about examining your own life, your own fears, your own problems and your own well dramas so that you can get out of the way when you're with someone else,. The pandemic also kind of short circuited development, definitely. And it's to be seen yet whether it could possibly, it'll turn into something that is quite transforming.
