Mokthifur was a town of the British surrounded by the sea of villages and these villagers led a very different life. The omelet which was being sold for 25 peset was a luxury which not everybody could afford. All tamaar was the sea tamaar, all gobi was seasonal gobi, barish kebad all turei and kakli was pari, turei or kakli. So everything had the flavour which was associated with the season.
