Marvin Harris's Race Relations in Brazil

The book is about Colombian anthropologists, sort of that wasn't any attempt, but it ended up being that way. And Marvin Harris was particularly interesting to me because I only knew his like truly bizarre work on like diaty colleges and religion. He's a fascinating figure. Later, he develops a more comparative look of race in the Americas, driven by a political economic kind of Marxian approach. It does make some really important and interesting comparisons between racial classification systems in the US and the Brazil and Brazil. But ends up also minimizing racism in Brazil.
