In dealing with catheism, we are dealing with a divine mystery. God is inherently mysterious and beyond our ken,. but is revealed to us in or scripture and in the christian tradition. The great christian tradition has significantly augmented and shaped the way we think about god. And much depends on one or other of those poles as to what it is that we end up saying about god.
