In fact, in my experience growing up in the church, the “gospel” was almost completely about sin management, behavioral modification and focused on the afterlife. When there was Good News spoken about HOW God saves us, through the work of Christ on the Cross, there was almost never anything mentioned as to WHY we are saved. Or the PURPOSE of the Gospel."
