The Grand Jury's Role in the Electoral College
The vice president is the designated official on January 6 to actually open up the electoral college ballots from the 50 states and count them. It's a ministerial role that's been made even more clear than it used to be by the Electoral Count Reform Act past last year. Now that could still raise questions in the grand jury. I mean, he may try tointerpret that broadly. And the government, I think, Jack Smith and his team will try to interpret it narrowly.
