Bilingual brains really drove home my idea about different not necessarily being better or worse. There's a huge history of politics that start out with people who are hell bent on convincing others that bilingualism is bad for you and that they lag behind monolingual peers. The very obvious advantage of being bilingual is that you can talk to twice as many people. You have a behavior that allows you to share your mind with a bigger subset of the population.
