The Gliders of the First Airborne Operation
More than 600 men were lost in the airborne operation more than half by drowning. The glider did float to a large extent, which was fortunate they weren't sure the time that was how they proved it. When they hit you know when you hit water at 60 miles an hour you're hitting concrete. The impact is just extraordinary so made them killed on impact.
