The Changes in Terrorism Law in 2016

Our whole terrorism law is characterised by some very wide discretion. That's good in terms of giving nimbleness and speed of action to decision makers. But it also means that these powers are open at least theoretically to the possibility of abuse. Our definition of terrorism is, I think, broader than it needs be. It catches people who most of us would think of as hate criminals rather than terrorists. And looking back over your six years in office, would you say that terrorism legislation is less intrusive than it was? Do you have any examples of how terrorism law has changed over the past six years?
