The Heart of the Heart
In Mark 6, it says that the disciples could not understand about the ample bread that Jesus produced because of their hard hearts. I take that to mean that they thought like Pharaoh, that they thought in terms of scarcity. And so they had no categories through which to understand God or Jesus' incredible capacity for abundance. Right. Yeah and that's an interesting parallel with a flood story where grief defines God's disposition toward the flood and the destruction of all that he made. So it's a logical connection.
