When I came to faith and went to seminary, my first desire was apologetics. So I didn't know Black people ever existed in the Bible. And so when I learned of all the presence of Black people that Africa was in the Bible, like it really did transform the way that I saw the biblical texts. The faith is intrinsically good. It's intrinsically holy and righteous. But people have a tendency to distort things that are good. God had given us something good and we distorted it. We can protest the distortion of truth, but don't discard truth.
