Where Are We Today With the Craft?
I think we've lost some of the art in writing. I'm a fan of simple language, but that doesn't mean dumbing it down. It does not mean robbing things of detail and specificity. In order to write simply and clearly and concisely, you actually also have to know how to write more fully. You can't have a good piece of writing without having clarified your own thoughts. And so even though I do very much value and often argue for and advocate, you know, concision and clarity and so on.
