The Practice of Objectivity in Journalism

In the 18 thirties, there was a move to produce non partisan daily papers funded by advertising. The performance of objectivity was really initially given in order to sell papers and not because this would be the best way to tell a story or gather information. Those sort of teachings for journalists were also based on the rise in the use of the scientific method,. which, again, has never been objective but i think has useful aspects to it.
