There's a tendency to over capture, over accumulate. I call it digital hoarding. The way that I recommend people organize their files is called para. It's one of the techniques in my book. That's P-A-R-A, which stands for projects, areas, resources, and archives. And the idea here is basically to organize based on the principle of actionability.
