Why You Need a Magic System?

Clark: I think we, in general, as storytellers are under utilizing magic systems. The more emphasis you put on it, the more you can get out of it by tying it to the different parts of your story. Now, this isn't to say that absolutely everything has to have a purpose. You can take a system you really like and use that as a foundation for your own system. In fact, one of my videos I talk about the underlying structure of the Mistborn magic, specifically Alomancy, and how you can take that structure and then reskin it.
