The Blockhouse
There's a tang to the air that wasn't there before. Inside, i know that tang is my fear. Alarm bells ringing in my nervous system, telling me i'm in danger,. That i am alone without help, that i'm being hunted. The figure keeps walking. It's tall and thin, even inside the suit. Who the hell could it be? Why are they out here? I trip, the toe of my boot catching in a crusty piece of hardened regoleth. Sprawled forward again, this time on to something firm. And there, right in front of him, barely a dozen meters away, is the blockhouse. Relief coursing through me.
