The Importance of Owning Our Own Sales Process

When you do presenting or demoing before doing discovery, that's sales malpractice. There's no way you could be perceived as a consultant if you don't conduct effective calls. You need to set up the meeting and share your agenda verbally from the customer on the same page with them. I'll tell you one of my favorite things that happens when you're in an adversarial dynamic is people buy away at what you are trying to say because they feel uncomfortable saying it out loud. It takes away some of the awkwardness about being seen by someone who doesn't know you very well.
