What Does Petlep Stand For?

Petlep is an acronym for seven components that should be considered when developing an imagery intervention for use with athletes. They are physical environment, task, timing, learning, emotion and perspective. It's important to mention that it's not like a checklist of these are seven things that you have to include if you're doing an imagery intervention with athletes. But yeah the overall premise of the model is to try and use these Petlep principles to provide an imagery experience for the athlete that is as close as possible to physical performance as you can get through mental simulation and imagery.
