Longing in English

Longing in welsh can mean love, sickness and longing for someone who has died. I think probably the welsh people are more full of herit in general than the english people. And so that's why an englishman cannot really understand it. Thats the whole meaning of the word, first country to be colonized by the english. Quite true. But that's a topic for another day.
