The Battle to Stop Mining in Sierra Leone
Sierra Club and Friends of the Inyo Emily are working to stop cyanide heap leaching at Hot Creek. Up north in Bodey there are three mining sites where drilling could start any time now. With the 1872 mining lost still in place stopping any of these projects seems unlikely without significant public pressure on companies themselves. The fight will continue.
