A star player receiving a double team is, in a sense, a latent factor. It could be the way the defence is bent, scheming toward players. In a small sample, these are the signals we're picking up. This is what we care about measuring when we think of value. But i've noticed that those things get drowned out by, oh, who made the most shots? What's the result of this play?
