Introduction

The aim of every gospel preacher is to bring understanding in the heart of his hearers. The preaching of the cross will be foolishness to them, but once they're confronted with their sin, they've transgressed God's law that they need a substitute. That's the power of God's salvation. And so we don't need to stand back and say, well, I preach Christ crucified, they didn't understand it.
