There are many types of breath work. Stanislav Graf was a professor at Harvard who worked with Timothy Leary on psychedelic research for a period of time. He really tried to explore ways of accessing transcendental states in a natural, safe and legal way. There's up-regulatory practices that give you energy and that stimulate your nervous system. And there are this category we call transformational practices which calm you down or ground you. These practices have been around indigenous cultures for centuries. They're not practices that have been developed out of the blue.
