Colonialism, Trans-Misogyny, and Intersectionality

This chapter explores the historical intersection of colonialism, racism, and trans misogyny, highlighting how these power structures have influenced gender binaries and led to violence against transgender individuals. It also challenges the use of trans identity as a metaphor and critiques inappropriate analogies drawn between the experiences of trans individuals and migrants. Additionally, the chapter discusses the impact of capitalist modernity on marginalized individuals like Mary Jones, a free Black trans woman, in terms of freedom, mobility, and challenges within the context of nation states.
