John Avlon: There was a situation, I think last week or earlier this month, where a federal judge who had been appointed under the Trump administration was going to talk to students that are part of the Federalist Society there. While he was speaking, a bunch of students came in and started heckling and protesting, trying to drown out the speech. He says Stanford issued an apology on behalf of that staff member and admitted that this violated their school's rules against the heckler's veto.Avlon: This is a particularly egregious example, but not a new thing that's been happening on college campuses. The Biden administration's department of ed wants to roll back those regulations.
