In your book, you asked the question, should is every human life of the future a value? Is it possible that there are people who would be better off never having been born? And i found that a shocking in the following sense. You trid to find evidence. If they're not goingin agan, if they think their lives are et lik negative, they col end their lives. Why is hat against taking one's own life? That's curious. A, because maybe people's good lives really have been like jus and rates of take-your-life would be much higher otherwise. So that makes me give weight to this argument, but not enormous weight.
Philosopher William MacAskill of the University of Oxford and a founder of the effective altruism movement talks about his book What We Owe the Future with EconTalk host Russ Roberts. MacAskill advocates "longtermism," giving great attention to the billions of people who will live on into the future long after we are gone. Topics discussed include the importance of moral entrepreneurs, why it's moral to have children, and the importance of trying to steer the future for better outcomes.
