How to Produce Cheapest Green Hydrogen

Idea of using surplus renewable energy to generate hydrogen will be a mirage. At present, variable renewables account for around 13% of global electricity. Even with that gargantuan 33% curtailment, wind or solar could still profitably be sold at $30 per megawatt hour - half the price of any known alternative. But given that each renewable project only operates part of the time during the day for solar during windy conditions for wind, the surplus power that they would produce is too few hours each year to run an electrolyzer economically.
