Abraham, by the way, was 86 when ishmael was born. Things are looking bleak for child bearing. How can you be the patriarch with no seedlings? It's a big deal that they can't have kids, and they suddenly do. Isaac, in other words, is kind of a living embodiment of a miracle in sarah's and abraham's eyes.
