The Democratization of Our Tools

Many consortia don't really have an expert on the psychometric characteristics of these cognitive tests, because they see them as something you can just pick up fairly easily. This democratizing of our tools is also something that I sometimes think is a problem for things like statistical packages which are so widely distributed and easy to use now. For example, when we look at the genetics of personality, none of the big papers has been published in any of the personality journals. And it's all about done mostly research by geneticists for genetics journals.
