Aristotle's Criticism of Morality
Aristotle distinguishes the imaginary from the effectual along the ought versus the is, right? That's an initial signal that he's going to be critiquing morality pretty systematically as he goes on to do. And I think when you look at that and you see what's demanded of that, it does seem like an impossible ought,. But they wouldn't write off wholesale the distinction between higher and lower in their political philosophy.
