The Effects of Cotton on the Cane Ecosystem

The Muscogee Indigenous peoples of Alabama were removed during the trail of tears from Alabama and put in Oklahoma on a death march. They have recently reclaimed about a thousand or more acres, which still is not very much compared to their old land base. So they would basically replace all of these cane fields with a cotton. And so it's sort of like taking croissants away from French people forever and saying, sorry, no more croissants.
