Parents can see beyond their concerns, based on this wonderful work they're doing to reparent themselves and not repeat the experience that they had as children. It makes sense that he wants his parents to be happy. And if they're not, then he can't really just go on and accept that and be fine. But if he knows what it's about and that it's not about him, then he Can feel a little better. He still may ask. Again, that's how much they want us to behappy.
