How to Harvest a Ramp in the Wild

Ramp season has just come to an end. Ramps are functionally like wild onions and they grow in bunches, clusters, little patches. When you harvest a ramp in the wild, which I've done a lot of over the last couple of weeks, you don't pull them up out of the ground. You actually take a knife and you cut them off at the bottom. And then also when you're harvesting from a patch, you don’t really want to take more than 10% of any patch. This man is out foraging on north facing slopes. Ethically, the man is ethically foraging ramps. It all matters.
