We traverse some of the nucleus accumbens in order to place an electrode that we want to use to detect when cravings are happening. We convert their electrical signal to an audible signal so we can actually hear it. It sounds kind of like the tremor looks, like the frequency of the signal is the same as the hand shaking. And so the patient with Parkinson's is trembling. Exactly. So what we decided to do in the operating room was to actually try to leverage a tool that we use all the time when I take care of patients with Parkinson's.
