Paul was adamant that you should not convert Judaism if you're a Gentile to become right with God. That does seem to be directly contrary to what Jesus taught. But I think the issue with Jesus, the issue never came up with Jesus. And Jews were the people of God, and Jews need to get ready because God now is going to interact. So I think that what this is showing is that Jesus does think that Gentiles can get into the kingdom.
