The Painting of Velascus
The painting was painted to appear in that very room. It's a great volume of space, a huge, long room with these very, very high windows. And he's arranged the shutters in the palace so that just almost like a pencil beam of light is coming through this beautiful sun. You can imagine the high spanish sun, as trevellyan is saying, you know, we ere all alive on the same earth. No matter that time has passed and our forbears are dead, the sun is still shining on the same spot.
