Is There a Cult Within the Church of Christ of Laterday Saints?
i don't like the term its, i just think it's not useful culturally. No independent observer who came in and did ethnographic studies of my ward for a year would say, oh, ye, i just attended a cult for a year. You can also find parallels and correspondences there within mormon history and even contemporary practice. I again, as you said, nobody says they belonged to a cult. I don't believe any reasonable observer of i virtually any like what's going on grass roots in terms of the day to day living out of m Mormonism by most people. So i just find it, i find it not analytically useful, and then emotionally majoritive.
