The way that you think about getting data between systems has really changed over the last 10 years. REST is tied very deeply to that model, but as we start writing code in a Litzer that's using channels or maybe we're writing live view. And so not only does GraphQL let you work in those different contexts, there's a deep synergy between effort you put into the API and the benefits you get in those scenarios. Jason rest doesn't even think in those terms. He thinks it's an easy to use query interface which documents itself. It's the best documentation tool you'll ever get for an API.
