I would love, I think it would be clearly nice for there to be some way of doing a vetting on our perhaps biggest risk, which is a funders just because risk is like so black and white. But at the same time, it does require nuance and it's like it's tricky to do well. So hypothetically, what may make sense is for us to try to have neutral third parties of like very small amounts of fun but then that gets to be messy as well. Well, I just want to flag that I don't think OpenFilanthropy would feel competitive with other funders. Like they just don't doesn't feel like that's their role.

What the heck happened with FTX and Sam Bankman-Fried? Were there early warning signs that most people failed to notice? What could've been done differently, and by whom? What effects will this have on the EA movement going forward?

Marcus Abramovich is a managing partner at Enlightenment Ventures, an EA-aligned cryptocurrency hedge fund. Marcus also leads a Facebook group and Discord community of effective altruists focused on accumulating capital to donate to EA causes, and advises several cryptocurrency projects.
